RHINO TNS FT. LEO W3ST
Anticipating the release of his debut album, Bad Weeds, Rhino TNS came to me looking to create a low-budget music video that he could use as promotional content when reaching out to record labels. Utilizing Rhino's skills as a 3D designer and recruiting one additional videographer for help on-set, we created the following work for under $1,600.
The video features his first track, Habits, which describes his struggles with first-gen financial literacy and resisting one's vices.
PROCESS
Art direction and vision were created through a collaborative effort between myself and Rhino. Using context of the song's meaning and reference from other music videos and shoots that he liked, we compiled the following moodboard and concept.
EDITING
With our process being so collaborative, I wanted to find a way to pull selects where people were able to see the full extent of our timed shots before pulling out B-roll into a separate timeline. I quickly achieved this by matching up timecodes and displaying each shot "Brady Bunch Style."
TITLE & CREDIT SLATES
Finally, as part of the final polish pass, I designed a title slate using a custom typeface and animated it to emphasize the retro feel we were aiming for in the video.
